Regrettably looking to rehome our two lovely budgies as our lifestyle currently doesn’t allow us to give them the time and attention they deserve.
Junior (yellow) is around 3 years old and the Baby (green) is around 2. They are both hand tame, well-natured birds but the Baby has a feather condition and is unable to fly. This may or may not be French moult – he started losing flight feathers when he was around a year old and since then I have tried a number of different supplements but nothing seems to help. He is now without his primary flight or tail feathers as seen in pictures. Despite this, he is happy, playful and seems otherwise healthy.
Prior to this condition developing, they were used to regular free flight around the home but I obviously have since had to limit their time out of the cage. I would love for them to go to someone who had the time to allow them to be out of their cage more with the correct supervision and just generally give them a bit more attention as I think they are lacking this with us currently.
I am in no immediate rush to rehome and as such won’t let them go to just anyone. Not looking for any money but I am looking for experienced bird owners with the time and patience to look after a disabled budgie (past experience with similar would be absolutely ideal). I need to be confident that the home they’re going to would be an improvement on staying with us.
They have a large cage and lots of toys, food bowls etc and I would ask £60 for all of this if required.
