Chase, our not-so-little whirlwind, is an active young boy searching for a home where he can be guided into becoming the well-rounded, well-behaved dog he has all the potential to be. With his striking black fur and distinctive white markings on his face, neck, and chest, he is undeniably handsome. His cheeky grin is full of mischief, and he promises to be a worthwhile adventure for his future adopters.
Chaseās start in life was far from kindāhe was found tied to a tree in the middle of the woods, left out in the freezing cold of early January. Whoever abandoned him clearly wasnāt aware of the many dog rescues and vet clinics in the area, instead choosing to leave him somewhere with no chance of survival. Thankfully, a kind-hearted woman spotted Chase and decided he deserved better.
He is very much a wild child and will need an owner who is committed to working with him. Given his current size as a puppy, he will grow into a large and potentially powerful dog. Our trainer has assessed him and believes he would benefit greatly from continued training and appropriate handling by someone experienced with large breeds. Chase is highly intelligent and will be a joy to train with the right motivation. Lead work should be a priorityāhe is already making progress with walking to heel, though he still needs more practice to perfect it.
We have no way of knowing Chaseās exact breed mix, but we suspect he may have some Mastiff, Akita, Staffie, or Great Dane in him. He is a handsome mutt, but we donāt think that really matters! Socialisation with other dogs will be a key part of his development, and he could potentially share a home with a well-behaved, established dog following a successful meet and greet.
Since we donāt know Chaseās background, we feel a home without young children would be best, though he could live with older teenagers. He also wonāt be suitable for a home with cats or small furriesāChase loves to play, and we wouldnāt want him mistaking something for a toy that isnāt one.
Raising Chase wonāt be a walk in the park, but with challenges come great rewards. In the right home, he has the potential to become a fantastic companion and the perfect partner for all of lifeās ups and downs.
