Description
πŸ’™πŸΆ ALFIE πŸΆπŸ’™ 🏠 FOSTER OR FOSTER TO ADOPT 🏠 πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§ Burton on Trent DE15 🐾 Available for meets and greets 🌟 RBU and post-adoption support provided 🐢 Alfie is a lovely yorkshire terrier. 15 months old. He's energetic and loving. Good with other dogs but does have some separation anxiety. Alfie is castrated. Up to date on injections. Little Alfie has been through so much in his short life he deserves the best home 🏑 🐢 Alfie has found himself needing a new home through absolutely no fault of his own. His family had him since January, he started life with a little old lady that got poorly and couldn't cope. But then devastatingly his family found out the husband has brain cancer in Feb and he had brain surgery in June, however his health has deteriorated drastically meaning it’s a struggle to give Alfie all he needs and now want to find a family to give him all the time he deserves. This what his family say - Alfie loves other dogs and plays happily with the large golden retriever next door, in fact they've both made holes in the garden fence so they can call for each other to play out. Is always very happy to see us when we come home and greets us with excitement. He's up to date with his injections and up to date with health checks, flea and worming also. Hes in tip top health. He is also neutered. He is a lovely boy, loves a snuggle and is very fun and bouncy too. He can jump really high. He does have separation anxiety and can chew things like shoes when he's left too long or has pooped in the dining room despite being out prior to being left or having toys available to chew instead. Though he hasn't done this for some time and is much better when he is in a create. He's not aggressive but is very wary and nervous of men. He has always been around girls and ladies except my husband, he barks when he's worried about someone. Never aggressive though. We also have a cat who he isn't bothered by in the slightest and just seems to ignore for the most part. If he's in a cheeky mood he will walk past her when he knows she doesn't like it and she tells him off. His birthday is 13/08/2023 so he's 15 months and he is create trained. Can do basic commands such as sit, stay, down, up etc. He has very polite table manners and wont go for his food till you walk away after filling his bowl or say OK. If he's excited or out and about though he won't recall. He goes deaf apparently when he's distracted by the great outdoors. His walking manners have improved but he still pulls. Doesn't like water such as rivers or lakes and won't go near the edge. 🐢 Alfie is great with other dogs, he plays beautifully. He would be best rehomed with another dog to help him navigate the big scary world. Alfie would benefit from a home with an older companion dog. 🐢 A home with older children would be good for him as he appears to bond well to people quickly but may be too rambunctious for young children.
