Description

Reggie's journey began in Romania, where he arrived in the UK as a hopeful pup with his siblings. Sadly, his first home proved too overwhelming, and he's been searching for his perfect match ever since. Despite a bumpy past that included periods of neglect and instability, Reggie's spirit shines through. Now, at four years old, this resilient boy is ready to finally settle down and share his love with a deserving family. He's a medium-sized sweetheart, weighing around 21kg, with a heart of gold. This affectionate and playful boy loves nothing more than a good walk followed by cosy cuddles. He's a true gentleman around the house – clean, well-mannered, and happy to entertain himself when left alone. When it comes to walks, Reggie has mastered loose-lead strolling and enjoys exploring the world at his own pace. Treats are his weakness, and he'll gladly show off his impeccable "sit" for a tasty reward. Reggie's ideal day involves a leisurely walk, a playful game of fetch, and plenty of quality time with his humans. He's a low-maintenance companion who doesn't guard his toys or food and is always a star at the vet. What Makes Reggie Special: Despite everything he's been through, Reggie remains incredibly affectionate, playful, and eager to please – a true testament to his resilience. He’s a good boy at the vet, enjoys treats, and is gentle and patient when waiting for one. He doesn’t guard food or toys, and he’s always ready for a cuddle or a game. Though he’s been passed around, he still trusts people, showing just how much love he has to give. Areas for Growth: While Reggie has a lot to offer, it's important to be aware that his past has left him with some anxieties. He can be nervous around new people, especially men and young children, and other dogs. He needs a patient and understanding family who can provide him with a calm environment, clear boundaries, and consistent support. Visitors & Socialisation: Reggie needs careful management when it comes to visitors. He can be anxious if he feels overwhelmed, and this can sometimes result in reactivity. This requires a consistent approach to management, and O.U.R will provide guidance on this. Reactivity & Anxiety: Reggie can be nervous on walks, especially if other dogs or people come too close. Simple management (like keeping distance) helps, but this is something his new family will need to be patient with. A calm, predictable environment is key. Car Sickness: He does get car sick, so long trips or day trips may not be ideal for him. What Reggie Needs in His New Home: A Calm Household: Ideally, he needs a quiet environment, preferably with few visitors. Experience with Anxiety: His new adopter should understand anxiety and reactivity in dogs and be able to provide clear, calm, and kind boundaries. Patience & Understanding: Reggie may take two steps forward and one step back in his journey. His new family must be patient and not discouraged by setbacks. A Forever Friend: While he may never be the most social dog, Reggie will repay the love and care you give him tenfold. He is a loyal companion and will be your new best friend, always ready to offer affection and companionship. Could you be the special someone Reggie has been waiting for? He deserves to find his happy ending and not be passed around not knowing where he belongs. If you're ready to open your heart and home to this beautiful dog, please get in touch. Reggie's waiting to meet his forever friend. ✅ Neutered ✅ Vaccinated ✅ Microchipped ✅ Blood Tests ✅ Flea Treated ✅ Wormed ✅ Passport 🐶 Needs to be the only pet 🐱 Needs to be the only pet 👶 Adult-only home required Apply to adopt Reggie here - https://ourdogfoundation.org/apply-to-adopt
