DescriptionIt's with a heavy heart that I must re-home my baby Astrid. I'm looking for a loving and quiet family that will take care of Astrid and give her the same love we have given her over her 2 year life so far.
We are re-homing Astrid because my girlfriend is pregnant and we have read about the dangers of keeping cats around new-born babies.
Please take this as your fair warning, Astrid is a VERY shy cat, and will most likely hide if you wanted to view her in person. You are welcome to see her in person, however, please don't expect to see much of her.
Astrid is a 2 year old female British tricolour Shorthair. She's been spayed so she can't have kittens.
She's a very shy cat, and it will take a while for her to become comfortable in your home. She may hide for some time, maybe in just 1 spot. It's important that you recognize this spot quickly, and place her litter, food and water nearby. This is the place she will feel most comfortable.
Astrid is entirely an indoor cat. If you leave a window open, she will venture out in her own time, but she won't go further than the garden. She just likes to roll around in the sun on occasion.
Once Astrid settles in, which she eventually will, she will love you infinitely. When I work from home, she sits in my lap. When we go to bed, she joins us in the bed and waits for us to switch the projector on; she likes to follow what's happening on the screen. She especially loves the videos of fish swimming across the screen. When she's with you, she loves being stroked and loves a cuddle.
Astrid loves a good cuddle and will always be following you around when she wants attention. She's a bit of a drooler when she's super relaxed, so if she's drooling, you know she's at ease. This is a normal cat behaviour.
She has no problem being picked up to be moved, but you shouldn't hold her for too long because she doesn't like that.
Astrid very rarely meows, and will only do so when she wants something. If you get up, she'll lead you to the thing she wants. If she's hungry, she walks to where she knows her food is kept.
Astrid has always been really good at using her litter tray without issue. She's used clay and wood pellets with no obvious preference, so I'd recommend wood pellets because it smells much nicer. The urine turns into sawdust which makes it incredibly easy to sift through a tray with a sifting layer.
Please let me know if you have any questions about Astrid and her behaviours, routines and habits. As I said in the beginning, I am looking for a loving and quiet home for Astrid.
If you're taking Astrid home with you, I only ask that you cover the cost of the microchip information change. You can take her little tray home with you, and her food bowl.
