Rescue Story:
LEIA’s story could have ended in tragedy, but fate had other plans for this gentle girl. She and her canine companion DIOR were abandoned outside a rural shop, desperately begging for scraps from passing customers. Their presence wasn’t welcomed by the shop owner, who made a chilling call to arrange for them to be poisoned.
But one compassionate shop worker overheard the call and couldn’t stand by. In an act of bravery, they contacted rescuers, who arrived just in time to save LEIA and her friend from a cruel fate. Now safe, LEIA is ready to the next chapter of her life—one filled with love, kindness, and a forever family.
Detailed Information
LEIA is a big-hearted girl with the soul of a devoted companion. She thrives on being close to her human, walking step-for-step by your side. Her loyalty knows no bounds, and her greatest joy is simply being with her person.
She’s highly intelligent and eager to please, making her a delight to train. She enjoys long walks, outdoor adventures, and playtime with other dogs, though she’s selective about her friends and prefers to eat in peace (doesn’t like to share food with other dogs). She would flourish as the only dog in a household.
LEIA is good with older children (8+), who can match her energy and respect her nature. Her ideal family will be active, loving, and committed to making her feel safe and cherished.
Health Information
LEIA is fully healthy, spayed, and up to date on all core vaccines. She’s microchipped, and all dogs are tested for C. Brucella before travel (owners will receive a licensed laboratory certificate).
She is a dog from war-torn Ukraine in need of a safe haven.
