Mango is our Hand reared Silly Tame Talking Harlequin Macaw Parrot and is a very large bird compared to most other macaws and other Harlequins that we have seen
Mango is still a baby at just over 1 year old and closed rung these macaws can live up to 80 years so a lifelong commitment is essential. Please also bear this in mind before enquiring.
Mango has the most amazing colours that compliment so well with a full burnt orange to red breast and sea green and blue body! Mango loves to go in the shower and amazingly when wet he changes his colours to Purple and bronze as showing in photos!
Mango is talking and Says hello, Step up, and other words and whilst continuing to learn more words as picking them up very fast :)
Mango is priced very low but we want a permanent loving home and for not to be sold on!
Very comical, Tame and friendly, will fly on to your head, shoulders and step up on hand and loves head scratches under his wing. can send video via WhatsApp but viewing In person preferred.
Mango has no preference with males or females and children etc
Our 12 year old nephew from a different household also comes to play with Mango with no issues either. Mango can leave with a cage although this is only used for sleeping in so a more permanent cage would be needed if he will spend some time in there as he is out of cage nearly all day these birds could take a while to trust new family so bear that in mind
We ideally want an experienced home someone with experience with such big magnificent birds or other big parrots or someone who has researched about owning these birds at the minimum.
Mango has lived alone and also with a Scarlet macaw previously, and is only looking for a new home as our other macaw has bonded with another bird and Mango is not getting the same attention as he used to.
We were in the process of teaching Mango recall and also on a harness but given lack of time this has not yet been completed but still in progress.
Mango also began to learn some tricks and started waving to say hello but as this was not consistent is also not achieved just yet but in progress
Ideally looking for experienced home who have had macaws or atleast big parrots or someone who has done their extensive research into these birds

Fed on a very good seed diet with fresh fruit and veg daily and other supplements, has also been wormed and mite treated as a prevention
