Tilly- Frenchie Bulldog bitch aged 6 being fostered in Gloucestershire.
Tilly along with another adult Frenchie and 7 puppies were removed from a hoarding type situation where they just wanted the dogs gone. We removed them immediately at they were at risk of being passed on to continue being used for breeding.
We have decided these girls may be better splitting only because of their totally different needs and what we would deem suitable as a good match for them in terms of homing.
Tilly as she settles has become a very happy girl, giddy at times, if you call her when out she will come bounding over. She has not been mixed with the other dogs in foster as yet as we are giving them both time to decompress, but she is a lot happier around them through the stairgate and not taking much notice whereas Mavis is so very fearful and uncomfortable around them.
Tilly we feel will be happy to have a more active home than Mavis with walks and snoozes. She has a lovely temperament with people and is very sweet natured. She gets on well with Mavis who gets a bit fed up with her at times as she wants to play and was lovely with the puppies when they visited.
We are trying to put together the jigsaw of their previous life, the way she walks on a lead and how she is, is not typical ex breeding dog. I suspect she was being sold or given away on the free ads and people pose as loving family homes people believe them and this is a very common story. She is one of the lucky ones that has ended up in the rescue system where her future is now secure. No more puppies.

Since coming into our care, both girls have shown their true, gentle natures, despite their traumatic past.

We’ve started taking them on walks, and they’ve adapted beautifully.
They are calm around cars and walk well on a lead—this, along with their affectionate nature, strongly suggests they were once loved as pets.
They are very unlike the frightened, shut-down dogs we’ve helped from puppy farms in the past. These girls have likely experienced the warmth of a home before their lives were turned upside down.

It’s unclear if the puppies are theirs, but they greeted them warmly. Sadly, we suspect the puppies may have been taken away to be sold then brought back as unable to sell before being rescued themselves by us on that day

Before she leaves our care, Tilly will be spayed, a dental start her vaccinations, receive flea and worm treatments.
