Derek is the ultimate cuddler🥰
He is extremely affectionate and very intelligent. He is a cockapoo although far more cocker than poodle.
He’s a very gentle and kind boy, with lovely manners, he’s happy to lie in his bed or with his head on your feet but if allowed his favourite place is next to you on the sofa.
He has been very loved, we are happy to share circumstances that led to him being rehomed with anyone who is interested in adopting Derek.
He’s living with children age 8 and 12 whom he loves cuddling up with. We are happy to rehome with children of this age or older.
Derek is neutered.
He’s very good to groom, bath etc.
He is getting along well with other dogs, he isn’t living with cats but can be cat tested if required
He travels well in the car and he loves to go walks although he can pull to start through excitement . He does understand perfectly how to walk next to you and we have worked on lead walking but this is something that will need to be continued in his new home.
Derek was rehomed but came back to us as after a few days he started to bark at other dogs whilst on a lead.
He didn’t do this whilst with us and hasn’t don’t it since he has come back.
We believe that this was most likely him being anxious whilst on walks in his first week in a new home but this is something that may happen again when he is rehomed so anyone who adopts him must be prepared to work through this.
Otherwise they said that he was wonderful.
All of our animals are cared for in foster homes until they find their forever homes, this gives them time to adjust if they have lived in an outdoor environment.
All of our animals come with 7 days worth of food and 5 weeks insurance from Agria Pet Insurance, as-well as lifetime Rescue Backup. Microchip transfer is completed by us.
Adoption is subject to a home check also nd adoption contract. In some instances an initial home check may be able to be completed via video call.
Once we have received your application someone will be in touch to discuss him and arrange a home check if you would like to proceed.
If an application is not successful on this occasion we will contact you to ask if you would like to be placed on our waiting list.
