đź’ś DIGBYđź’ś
Currently Digby is at a rehab facility getting the help he needs. Digby was adopted as a 4 month old pup and had no boundaries put in place by his owner and was returned some months ago needing some work.
Digby is doing fab and is looking for a new family. His ideal home is pet and child free, ideally rural/semi rural location. Digby is a big lad (Irish wolfhound size) and his new family need to have experience of very large bouncy breeds that require strong boundaries and firmer handling. His rehab space have kindly offered remote support for the first few months on a weekly basis, which any potential family will need to commit to as part of his adoption.
His rehab space say that Digby is like an onion, you have to peel back the layers to find the emotions behind his exuberant, seemingly bold brave behaviour.
When you’ve read through the layers you find a lad that’s wary of other dogs, wary of leads and wary of new people so despite his bravado, goofiness, playfulness moments Digby is a worrier and fronts up to the world fully to keep it at bay … away.
This support and work for Digby has been invaluable for us and for him but of course comes at a cost. We know that Digby is a lot to consider, but with the support of the rescue, his rehab space and trainer, we hope to set Digby and his new adopters up for success.
Originally Digby was put into rehab as his owner wanted to take him back and was going to pay half of his fee but after one month they decided against it which has left us with a large monthly bill we didn't need :(
He's a wonderful boy who needs a special home.
