LEGHORN
Leghorns are a popular chicken breed worldwide, known for their large white egg and white feathers. They are a hardy breed and are highly efficient in foraging for food.
Leghorn chickens are one of the best layers. They lay between 280-320 eggs per year. That equals 5 or 6 eggs per week per hen. This is a high number compared to some other hens.
WARREN BROWNS
This is the most common hybrid breed of chicken and people will recognise Warrens as a classic brown hen. They're friendly, docile, and love human interaction making them the perfect pets for adults and children alike.
Warren hens usually lay about 300 eggs a year making them another great laying hen.
BLACK COPPER MARANS
If you are looking for a docile, friendly, and gorgeous chicken to add to your flock then look no further than the Black Copper Marans. This breed is known for its incredible egg quality, on average, a Black Copper Marans hen will give you around 3-4 eggs/week, which works out to around 150-200 eggs/year. This may not be as high as some other breeds, but their quality makes up for it.
Their eggs are absolutely gorgeous, a rich chocolate brown colour.
