Meet Bear
Our German Shepherd x Akita.
Bear is a very much loved dog, but unfortunately, we’ve been put in a position where we can no longer keep him. We don’t want to let him go, but we’re in an impossible situation.
Bear knows lots of tricks, and if you have treats or a ball, he’ll happily show them off without hesitation.
He loves walks, parks, forests, and especially any body of water where he can get wet and muddy.
Bear is house-trained, although if left alone for 3–4 hours, he might have an accident.
He loves attention and belly rubs. Bear also enjoys fetching balls and other toys, as well as playing tug of war.
He’s great on and off the lead. He can be somewhat reactive to other dogs — he’s not aggressive, just curious and likes to have a sniff and say hi. He usually recalls well when called. Bear is 7 months old and, as a puppy, still needs consistent training, but he is very well-behaved overall. He will go into his crate when we’re eating family meals or when vacuuming.
Bear is great with our small children but can be a bit boisterous around the cats. We’d recommend a home without cats, or at least one with a cat that is very familiar with dogs.
Bear is crate-trained but prefers to sleep on a bed on the floor of our bedroom. He doesn’t bark or whine during the night.
He doesn’t guard the door or bark at visitors — if you’re looking for a guard dog, he’s probably too soft for that!
Bear is up to date with flea and worm treatments, fully vaccinated (with records), and microchipped. He is not yet neutered.
He will come with his paperwork, toys, crate, harness, leads, food, and the remaining doses of worm and flea treatments — everything he needs to settle into his new home.
Because he’s still a young puppy, Bear needs a home where someone is around most of the time or where he can be let out after 3–4 hours.
We typically walk him twice a day: a shorter morning walk, a longer evening walk, and a much longer walk at weekends.
We’re looking for an active owner who has the time, dedication, and energy to bring out the best in him — Bear really is a very clever and lovely pup.
We’re firm on the money, as we’re looking for someone serious about the responsibility.
He can be at our home in Aylesbury, or our parents in Milton Keynes, or work in Reading for ease of meeting him.
