Little Mouse is a shy but sweet-natured boy who has already overcome so much. Since arriving in the UK and settling into a calm, experienced foster home, he’s slowly blossoming into a loyal and gentle companion. Though still nervous, he finds great comfort in the company of the resident dogs and follows his carers around like a little shadow. He’s not playful just yet – toys and games don’t really interest him – but he loves his walks and watching the world go by in peace.
Little Mouse has made good progress especially considering how scared he was when he arrived. He now gets in and out of the car willingly although travelling is still very stressful for him. He enjoys off-lead time in secure areas and walks nicely with other dogs. He takes cues from his canine companions and gains confidence from them, so a kind and steady resident dog will be essential for his continued growth. A home where Little Mouse has to travel long distances by car would not be suitable.
In his foster home, Little Mouse has settled into a quiet routine. He’s learning that humans can be kind, and while he’s not a cuddly lapdog, he does enjoy gentle affection once he feels safe. He’s happiest in a calm, low-pressure environment and needs time to process the world at his own pace.
IDEAL HOME:
Little Mouse is looking for a very special home – one that is quiet, calm, and consistent. He would be overwhelmed by a busy household or one with children. He would thrive in an adult-only home, with someone around most of the time and a confident dog or dogs to show him the way. His adopters will need to be patient and understanding, willing to go at his pace as he continues to gain confidence and heal from his past.
Little Mouse is mostly Podenco – a breed known for their sensitivity, intelligence, and resilience. He was used for hunting in the past, but all he wants now is safety and stability.
If you're someone who understands the magic of watching a nervous dog slowly come to life, Little Mouse could be the perfect companion for you. Please contact us if you would like to apply to adopt him.
