Meet Alma, a wonderful and beautiful girl from Cyprus.
Alma is approximately 18 months old, a medium sized hound mix girl, neutered and fully vaccinated and is around 14-15kg. Alma is currently in foster care in the UK.
This is what her foster mum says about her:
Lovely Alma is the sweetest dog you will ever meet. She is sensitive, graceful and gentle.
Although, shy and timid at first warms up quickly when she feels safe. She is very affectionate and likes human attention and touch.
She walks well on the lead and is becoming more and more confident outside , even when there is busy traffic and lots of people. She greets everyone with a wagging tail while on a walk.
Alma is very sociable, she loves all dogs! She plays like a puppy and does zoomies while on her 30 meters long lead. She loves being off lead with other dogs and although she stays with the pack she does need to stay on the lead if not in a secured area as she would chase a bird and would follow her nose into the bushes.
Alma’s forever home would be a quiet, calm home where she can feel safe and loved. She would be ideally suited to a calm, gentle person who loves the outdoors with any children being over 12 years of age. Alma is still startled by loud noises in the house and prefers calm people and quiet home. She is learning to travel in the car she is initially hesitant to get in but once in and being driven she is fine.
Alma has never displayed any guarding issues and will happily share food and toys with other dogs/ people.
Her training is going really well and she is learning basic commands fast like ‘sit’ ‘wait’ ‘come here’ and ‘find it’. She shows great potential to learn more complex commands.
Alma is placid and calm at home. She is slowly learning to play with toys and she entertains herself by throwing a ball for herself. She tolerates a wash and is happy to be picked up.
Alma can be left alone for a 4-6 hours with no problem but prefers company. She does not bark or cry when left alone and does not chew furniture etc.
Alma could jump a small fence and so a secure escape free garden would be necessary.
Thanks to her amazing foster carers, Alma is becoming a wonderfully balanced dog and would be the most adorable family pet. She will be loyal and loving and will bring a smile to your every day.
