Meet Harry, “Harry can be slightly reserved around new people however he does warm up very quickly. He is a very gentle boy but does have his crazy puppy moments. Since he has gotten older he has become very protective of his home and people which is very normal for his breed”
Due to Harry's age, size and breed he will be looking for a very active family who are ideally experienced with large breeds and can give him lots of long walks, training and mental stimulation 🐾
Harry has not been around any children, due to his size and boisterous nature it is felt he would need a home with only children 12+ who are confident around large dogs and with sensible introductions. Harry is still learning his manners and can be mouthy when he is trying to play 👶
Harry is good on a collar and lead, he is good on the lead and mainly walks without pulling however he can sometimes become curious of something and want to pull towards them, especially livestock. He doesn't show a prey drive however, he is very curious. He is currently walked in quiet areas and responds well to cues. He also isn't reactive towards vehicles or bikes 🐕🦺
Harry currently lives with other dogs however they have not accepted him within the home therefore he is kept permanently separated. He is very respectful of the other dogs but can get overexcited trying to play with them. He is generally very submissive. Harry would need another dog in his home to keep him company, any dogs would need to be large in size or be local for successful meets 🐾
Harry currently shares his home with cats, he is very interested and did initially chase the cats however has recently backed away and is scared of them now they have taught him some manners. He could potentially live with confident, dog savvy cats who are used to large dogs following sensible introductions 🐈
Harry is toilet trained but is not crate trained. He can sometimes show typical puppy chewing however with lots of toys and enrichment this can be easily managed. Harry has previously suffered with separation anxiety which would cause him to be destructive, he has now built up on his alone time and can be left alone for up to 4 hours with no issues however he would prefer a home with someone who is home most of the time to keep him company. He sleeps very well overnight. He isn't keen on the car but will sit well and with continued training it is felt this would improve 💞
