‘gramps’s vets words when they realised he’d been let down’
In gallery above. Please read what this lady had to say
Goldie ‘Gramps’ the small senior barrel shaped lad of 9yrs- available BRIXHAM area- reduced donation to right home
Well we can’t give away free dogs in accordance with rescue protocol though as gramps is priceless a commitment donation of £95 will be fine. This will help another senior dog like him.
Gramps has two video showcases and bios for EU & U.K.-please ask if you’d like to see them. He arrived on 2/3rd December 24’ & became a second chance adoption on the 4th December 24’ so he won’t have got too attached yet though he’s content and warm where he is. It’s through no fault of his own that he is still searching for the right person & we’re happy to chat to prospective owners for further details.
We are in the unusual & fortunate position of knowing Gramps’s history - where he was born right through to 10yrs later- we know the ‘owner’, village & circumstances of his ‘life’ including the dogs & cats he shared it with & where he ended up- a government shelter with his extended
family of two generations. He’s been for the last decade around new born pups & kittens/cats, his own miniature family of 5-10kg dogs & a GS who he coexisted with harmoniously. In the shelter he found a bromance with tiny Dipper the Jack russel lad. Gramps is grand with men and women too & his must haves will be a garden, time, patience, understanding, walks (not marathons) & love. Wonderfully he’s growing in confidence as we wouldn’t want him to be senile or sedate - release the puppy within is apt because goldies can find a new verve for life. He also likes to sleep.
Gramps was good around children, chickens & the resident veterinarian terrapin though as he’s retired we don’t need anything clucking around him now. The vet who has been with him everyday for many months- manager of the shelter describes him as ‘a gent, respectful, a little insecure & funny’. Gramps will, as he always has, adjust to new environments and what’s expected of him once he knows that the good life is on tap & he recovers from the life he’s lost and the family & friends he left behind. A big cushion will ease the loss Thank you to the current owner for keeping him warm and fed in the meantime & giving him the opportunity to leave BG- huge gratitude to all his supporters who have helped with his needs- including different anaesthesia method & clinic for castration & so on. Don’t rule out the golden oldies- they can surprise you & be the hearth of your home. Don’t judge a book at all let alone by its cover.
