Meryl… a gentle soul with a resilient spirit, is longing for a warm, loving home where she can thrive and be showered with the affection she deserves
Meryl was thrown out of a car with her nine siblings when only eight weeks old. We have now found homes for six of the puppies and recently brought Meryl and her sister Marietta over. Their brother milo is also here in kennels .
This is what her foster mum says about her:
Meryl is the the most gentle and kind natured girl. She has completely amazed me with her bravery and resilience since coming to us and leaving her sisters (who she lived with previously)
Meryl spent her first 2 weeks here in her crate, too scared to come out, she cuddled up with her teddies and just watched us coming and going. We put no pressure on her to do anything as understandably she needed time to decompress but after a couple of days she was happy for a stroke and would gently take a treat from our hand. She enjoyed affection and would lift her leg to have a belly tickle and luck our hands when we gave her a fuss!
Now Meryl has made such huge progress! She no longer needs her crate and has bonded with her foster siblings! She loves cuddles from us and equally loves cuddles with our dog Tyler. She plays nicely with my dogs and definitely enjoys a run around!
Meryl eats well and is very polite not attempting to take my other dogs' food.
Traffic is still quite scary for Meryl but she is being super brave on our walks and being exposed to quiet roads to build up her confidence but she is definitely more at home on quieter walks. She loves to run off lead and we are starting to teach her to walk nicely on lead too! She sits and waits for her harness to be put on!
Meryl hasnt shown to reactivity to anyone or anything in the home or outside. She isn't destructive in any way and likes to laze about on the sofa for as long as possible!
I have had to leave her for short periods of time whilst I work and she is good as gold! I'm pretty sure she just sleeps! Her favourite thing to do is snooze whilst having cuddles!
Meryl is funny and above all so incredibly sweet! She definitely needs another dog to play and snuggle with.
She deserves the best home as she is the best girl.
She doesn't have an ounce of aggression in her, she's sweet to the very core. A true angel
