Charlie is a fabulous Brittany cross, friendly and relaxed around people, and great with children.
Charlie is not keen on other dogs and prefers to be alone. If he is out with dogs who want to play, he is not aggressive with them, he just wants to be as far away from them as possible. He doesn't like dogs going over to him and just goes off to sit by himself. For this reason, he goes out with calm dogs who do not bother him and in this situation he is absolutely fine.
Charlie is very protective of his food, even alone in his kennel. He gives the impression of having been in a situation where he was attacked over food and this will need to be taken into consideration by his adopter.
IDEAL HOME
Charlie would suit a home without other dogs and where he can just be with his humans. As he is scared of other dogs, he should not be put into situations where other dogs can run up to him or make him feel threatened.
A home in a quiet location would be ideal, where Charlie does not have to socialise with too many dogs during walks. Please don't overlook Charlie because of this (if you could offer him an appropriate home) - as he really is the most wonderful dog!
BACKGROUND
Rescued from a hunter in Spain and tied up in the sun all day, Charlie had evidently not had a great life before we stepped in.
Charlie is four years old. Weighs 15kg and 47cms tall to sholuder.

All of our dogs have an international passport (unless born in the UK) and are microchipped. They are fully vaccinated for standard diseases as well as rabies and kennel cough. All dogs are blood tested for infectious diseases including Leishmaniasis, Dirofilaria, Ehrlichia, Babesia, Anaplasma, Lyme and Brucella Canis. All dogs, unless there are medical or behavioural reasons to not do so, will be sterilised. Charlie is neutered. Please note that we will advise medical results and treatments upon successful application.
