Description
Our aptly named Belgian Malinois - Mali (obviously) Roo - (jumps like a....) is a much loved 2-year-old girl of huge heart, courage and character. Very difficult and unexpected circumstances have brought about the need for Roo to be adopted.
Roo wants someone who knows, understands and can accommodate the specific temperament and physical needs of her breed type as well as respond to her unique self: endearingly loving, resourceful, responsive, eager to please and heartbreakingly good natured.
Roo prefers a strong alpha personality, otherwise, she will charm you into giving her everything she wants - but not what she needs – which could be disastrous. She wants you to understand, she is a dog, not a person, and she speaks dog perfectly well, and expects you know dog language and its subtleties, as that way, there will be few misunderstandings. She has also made every effort to learn a lot of useful vocabulary during her training! She needs you to be physically active, love the outdoors and getting mucky, swimming, running - the more challenging and adventurous, the better!
She does not like too much alone time. She is fiercely independent in many ways, but time alone e.g. for a working day would drive her insane with boredom. Roo was raised from 8 weeks old in a work from home environment with 3 biiiiiig dogs (Mastiff/Great Dane) and a Rotty-Akita-Malamute, on a farm, including farm animals & teenagers. I would not trust her to herd the geese on her own, but she is an excellent ratter!
Don’t read any further if you have cats, other small furry beasts, or another female hound. She will see them either as prey or will want to dominate and be the matriarch.
If you have read this far, then perhaps you are the one she needs, so it is fair to tell you, we do not want any money for Roo, we just want the right person. She’s not a commodity to be bought and sold. Rehoming will be a gradual process over a few weeks to ensure all are happy, we will know where you live and will have visited with her, you will have visited us and learned all about her and what she can do, what she is, and if you love dogs, this will be fine with you.
Probably best in that case to be from Devon or Cornwall!
