SHEAMUS was surrendered to us by another rescuer who couldn’t organise his fostering anymore. Due to the change of circumstances and, most likely, some traumatising events, he arrived very nervous and reactive towards unknown people. He was very friendly with all our other dogs and he was good during the walks.
More details - on request.
Anyway, together with our good friends from the other Rescue Place, we organised his training in a Rehabilitation Centre, in Newton Abbot. The feed-back is quite optimistic.
SHEAMUS was fully vaccinated and we’ve had him neutered, too.
Smart, very affectionate (with his “owners” and the people he trusts) and moderately active, SHEAMUS is friendly with all our other dogs, but he is anxious and can be funny with people he doesn’t know... Therefore he needs an experienced and confident owner / family, a quiet household...
SHEAMUS has a strange character, with a personality that's one of a kind. He adores his walks and playing with other dogs, but visitors, new environments and new circumstances can be challenging for him.
Sorry if we repeat ourselves, but we have to emphasize : SHEAMUS is looking for an adult-only home, as he's not a fan of the hustle and bustle of a family with children or with many visitors. - He needs a very confident and patient person or family who understands that settling-in will take some time.
SHEAMUS loves cuddles. He sleeps like a baby on our pillow, all night long.
In the right Loving Home, he would make a pleasant and devoted companion.
Friends InDeed is a registered Charity.
Home-Check (even done online, at times) is mandatory.
We do NOT supply dogs to non-genuine Dog-Loving people. There are all kind out there... can’t be too careful !
We do not encourage breeding and we are actively involved in actions of neutering stray dogs.
You must have your own garden and no children under 10 years old to adopt a dog from our rescue.
We are a 100% genuine and transparent Rescue and are doing substantial efforts to save these lives. We reserve the right to ask any (different) price / donation for our rescue dogs - depending on circumstances. In most cases, we are not covering the costs ! Only his training in Newton Abbot, was nearly £3,000 ! Anyway, we are flexible and open(...minded) to discuss over the price with the right potential adopters.
Our preferred method of contact is over the phone or WhatsApp - as we work during the day, with limited access to emails ; it is also more expedient - we can exchange most information in one go.
We keep in touch with all adopters (more than 400 families, so far). On request, we can obtain & provide very good references from any of them.
As we do with most of our doggies, we can bring SHEAMUS almost anywhere in the country (Peterborough - included, as we commute there almost daily) and you won’t have to pay a penny until you have him (!) or you can meet him in our place - in Calverton, NG14 6NY. Also, you will have our full Rescue Back-up !
As we said, SHEAMUS is now in a rehabilitation Centre (http://cbrc.uk/), in Devon, now ; he’ll be back with us soon, hopefully as a more confident and calm dog.
Please, please - NO TIMEWASTERS !
Thank You !
