🐾 Hi, I’m Rocko! 🐾
I’m a 3-year-old (nearly 4!) Cocker Spaniel x Patterdale with a big heart, big energy, and a big personality!
I absolutely love people and other dogs, and I’ve been lucky to have a wonderful family who have loved me since I was just 4 months old.
But here’s the thing - life has changed for my humans, and even though it breaks their hearts, they know they can’t give me the daily exercise and mental stimulation I need to be at my happiest. So, they’re making the kindest and hardest decision to find me a new home where I can truly thrive.
I’m a friendly, loving boy who enjoys adventures, playtime, and plenty of cuddles. I know my basic commands, I’m house trained, neutered, and fully vaccinated. I also travel really well, which means I’d be a great buddy for road trips!
Sometimes, I get a little excited on the lead and might pull a bit, but I’m a smart boy and can improve with the right guidance.
I get along well with other dogs, but never lived with one. I can be a bit bossy at times with other dogs, so I’d love a home that understands my personality and can help me with my social manners when needed.
Now, about cats… I’ve never lived with one, but I’ve met a cat a couple of times inside a home. I did what any excitable dog would do - I chased to play! But when the cat stopped and stood her ground, I got scared and ran off! So, let’s just say I’m still figuring out the whole cat thing.
I am currently living with young children, but I would prefer a home without children or with older (10+) dog-savvy children who understand and respect a dog's boundaries.
I need a home with a large, fully enclosed garden where I can run, play, and burn off energy. When I’m not zooming around, I also love to lounge in the sun and just relax. Having my own secure outdoor space is really important for me to feel happy and fulfilled.
I am calm and content when I have enough mental and physical exercise every day, but if I don’t get the stimulation I need, I will find it hard to settle. A home that understands my needs will help me be the best boy I can be!
What I really need is an active home - somewhere I’ll get plenty of physical and mental stimulation every single day. If you love being outdoors, going on adventures, and have time to keep my brain busy, we could be a perfect match!
Right now, due to lack of rescue space, I’m still living with my family while the amazing team at Paws2Freedom helps find my forever home.
My humans love me very much, and they just want to see me happy. If you think you could be the one to give me the life I need, I’d love to meet you!
A little update for you lovely humans! 🐶 One of Paws2Freedom’s amazing volunteers recently came to meet me and took me for a little walk. They said I was such a good boy (which, of course, I already knew! 😉).
While it wasn’t a full, detailed assessment, they could see straight away that I’m a very sweet, friendly, and well-natured boy with virtually no issues. I just love people, enjoy affection, and am always eager to please.
With the right balance of exercise and mental stimulation, I know I’ll thrive and be the best companion to a lucky family.
