We would like to re-home our horse field tortoise. We rescued her a few years ago when she was left at a local school one of us was working at. She was treated really poorly before that, not cared for properly, and was attacked by a dog (and has a scar on her shell from it). We have cared for her well, and have given her a really good life over the last few years. We love having her, but have travel requirements now that mean rehoming is the best for her.
She is around 8 years old (not sure because we rescued her). She is 15 cm. She has a lovely nature and loves to have the space to roam around. We let her have full roam of the downstairs of our house all day, and around the garden when it’s warm. She loves exploring! (Just make sure she doesn’t get stuck somewhere - she tends to do that!).
We’d like for her to go to a home that can give her a good life and the freedom to roam that she needs. It would need to be a child and dog free home, due to her past experiences.
We would provide her heat lamp and light, as well as a tortoise house/vivarium and some food and bedding to get you all set up.
We would love her to go to someone who has experience with tortoises, as they are very different to care for than other, furrier pets.
