Sad sale of my gorgeous 14'2 cob X mare.
Moonstone Rose aka Roo is a 14 year old mare. Owned by me for the past 5 years, full of character and an all round gorgeous girl. Perfect lead rein pony, great for beginners and kids. She's pretty much as bombproof as they come. Great to hack out but will plant if hacking alone, she can be pushed along but it can be hard work. Totally fine with company or if someone is on the ground. She is used to heavy farm machinery, buses, bikes etc and isnt phased.
Roo isn't a fan of schooling, she is more than happy to follow someone around on the ground (liberty) or lead rein but anything independent and she is just lazy. She hasn't ever bucked, reared, bolted and is super safe on the ground. Always comes to call from the field, currently lives out but has been stabled in the past. She is barefoot with great feet, all up to date with dentist and back. When I bought her I suspected slight stringhalt on her rear left leg but it's not progressed in any way and doesn't effect her, you can just see it in walk. Vet, chiro and farrier all found her sound, and she hasn't ever been lame.
She loves attention, can get impatient if tied up for too long (unless hay is involved!) Can be stubborn picking up her feet at times, then will be a star and pick them all up with no issues. She isn't really a fan of the farrier but isn't ever nasty just heavy on lifting etc. If you are looking for a safe hack that doesn't need to be ridden often, or want something for your kids to plod around on then she is the perfect pony.
Based in Thanet, Kent. Only reason for sale is my kids don't ride anymore as now working and college and she is just being wasted in a field.
