Description

PLEASE READ FULL DESCRIPTION. This ad wont let me post with a price less than £50. Due to personal reasons and financial difficulty I have to rehome Greyson, he is mixed breed of British blue and Russian blue. He is 3yrs but will be turning 4yrs this July 2025. you will notice that he has a facial deformity, his teeth show all the time due to cleft lip (not cleft palette, only lip) I rescued him by hand rearing him since birth because he couldn’t get milk from his mothers nipple due to the cleft lip not allowing him to get proper suction. His cleft lip doesn’t affect him in any way as an adult Cat, he can eat and drink normally like any other cat, this only affects the way he looks, he is otherwise healthy. I’ve learned that he is very afraid of new people so it will take a long time for him to adjust. I tried to rehome him once already but this wasn’t successful as he was very afraid and due to fear showed signs of aggression towards his new owner. Due to this I’m only recommending that he goes to a home with no children and possibly no other pets (he does currently live with 2 other cats and I have a 3 yr old so he is used to other cats and children but based on the previous experience I just don’t think him meeting new kids and new pets will be a good idea unless you are really confident that you know what your doing and have dealt scared cats in the past) I feel he needs to go to someone experienced with cat behaviour since he will take a long time to adjust, needs a lot of patience because he will show signs of aggression while he is afraid and I don’t know how long it will take for him to feel secure. Once he’s adjusted he is a nice cat but because he’s a hand rear he’s never been a lap cat and prefers his own space. He is affectionate but on his own terms, he is a very independent cat so if your worried about being away from home for long periods of time this isn’t an issue for him as he is used to being alone with the other cats for 11+ hrs a day while I go to work. I really don’t want to have to keep rehoming him as it’s very stressful for him so based on the previous experience he needs someone with a genuine passion for cat care. Someone that will be patient with him through all his faults and someone with thick skin who isn’t put off by his initial aggressive phase while he slowly adjusts. He’s only ever been an indoor cat with no outdoor access but I’m sure he could adjust to being an outdoor cat with slow introduction if this is what you wish. I will give you some food and basic essentials to take with him if you don’t already have these.
