I'm looking to rehome my approx. 2-year-old male axolotl. This is not an urgent rehoming - he's healthy, well cared for, and can stay with me as long as needed. I simply feel he would be better off with someone who enjoys keeping adult axolotls, while I've found that I connect more with raising juveniles or keeping terrestrial species.
He is a Blue Leucistic - with subtle dark pigment on the gills and a soft blue hue to the body, not a standard pink/white leucistic. One of his gills was damaged by a tankmate long ago and never regrew. It doesn't affect his health. He is picky with food - refuses earthworms, eats frozen bloodworms only, and strongly resists switching.
Must be kept in cool water below 18°C.
Rehoming only to someone with proven axolotl experience - I will ask for evidence (e.g. tank photos, knowledge of water parameters, etc.)
Open to trades for interesting invertebrates or other terrarium-appropriate species (e.g. stick insects, mantids, isopods,
etc.).
I'm happy to adapt or build new enclosures if needed - feel free to message with what you have.
