I am heartbroken to have to separate from my lovely golden retriever puppy Reginald.
In all honestly, even though we thought we knew what we were getting into by adopting a puppy, it has been difficult for us as my boyfriend experiences puppy blues. He is struggling to adapt and has not managed to build a bond with Reggie.
I have been doing my best to take care of Reginald, and have enjoyed every second of it. But unfortunately I have a job, and with my boyfriend feeling low it has became very difficult for me to deal with raising a puppy on my own and focusing on my job at the same time.
It is with regret I have to make the best decision for Reggie and find him a loving family who will have the time to take care of him the way he deserves.
He is an amazing and smart 4 month old puppy, born on 04.01.25. I think I have done a good job at socialising him. He is very friendly to humans and dogs, wanting to say hello to everyone. He has been used to all sorts of noises, even though he still doesn’t fully trust hoovers and hair dryers. He settles very well on the tube or train. He likes cars a bit less, but it really depends, sometimes he will sleep the whole journey and sometimes will whine. He has been to parks, the beach, the woods and busy areas. He is amazing on a long lead.
He is already toilet trained. We don’t have a garden but have pads on the balcony, he knows how to ask to be let out for a wee. He hasn’t had any accident inside in weeks. He has been to a pet sitter a few times and asks to be let out in the garden when needed as well so he clearly knows where he needs to do his business.
I love Reginald so much and am struggling with the idea that I have to give him away. I have been pushing back this moment hoping my boyfriend’s puppy blues would get better but it hasn’t. And I think waiting longer would only make it worse for the dog.
He is such a loving dog and loves to sleep next on my feet and wants lots of cuddles. He loves sleeping on the bed with me at night but is also okay sleeping in his bed next to me. I have been spending all my time with him, day and night so he has been used to having a lot of attention.
I’m looking for a family that will love him as much as I do, and will have time to give him the best life possible. He deserves the best.
He is KC registered, microchipped and has had his vaccines. Both his parents are health tested. We wanted to get the healthiest dog possible so got a puppy from parents with excellent results. Everything can be provided on demand.
I am very nervous about finding him a new family and want to make sure this time it will be the right one so I apologize if I ask a lot of question.
We are selling him just to make sure only serious families will message. I feel horrible making money by giving him away but I think if he was on here for free I would get all sorts of people messaging. I know everyone can pretend to be the perfect match and I don’t really have a way of verifying what people will tell me.
