Description
Meet Howie – LU's very own jumping jack! Let’s just say, if Howie was in the Olympics, he’d be a high jumper because when he leaps into the air, he achieves some serious height! Howie he can sometimes be a little nervous at first (mainly with men) but in general, Howie loves his people and will happily place his trust in them. Howie is a sensitive soul and so will need some time and space when navigating new things and places. Howie is also one smart dude! He knows so many tricks and loves nothing more than showing them off to an audience. We’ve already mentioned his jumping jacks, which it’s fair to say are pretty much part of his daily routine at the kennels, but he can do lots of other things too; his meercat impression being perhaps the cutest of the lot! Howie is a foodie at heart, so teaching him new things is a breeze. He’s eager to please and is always up for some affection and cuddles, so would make the perfect companion for anyone looking for a really loyal, furry pal! Howie gets on well with most other dogs and is a real social butterfly, it’s just the male, in tact doggos that he doesn’t really take to. Howie went for a sleepover with Toby and Lauren from the team and had an absolute blast. It was all new and exciting for him, so he was a little hyper, but they all had lots of fun, the highlight of the evening being when Howie took it upon himself to rearrange the cushions on their sofa! What type of home does Howie need? - An experienced, adult-only home with people who are patient and understanding that sometimes he might be a little jumpy at certain things- it’s partly excitement, but he can also be a tad scared of the unknown too! - A home without kiddies please- Howie needs to be an only child 😊 - A lovely garden (this is a must for his playful nature) and a home in a rural or semi-rural area that he can explore. With his playful personality and endless love to give, Howie will bring out anyone's inner child, along with all the laughter and fun that comes with it! If you would like to get to know Howie, please complete an enquiry form and we will be in touch. Adopting from LU: - All our dogs go on home trial for four weeks prior to adoption. - They are trained with force free, positive reinforcement-based training methods. If you adopt from us, you agree to continue using only these methods and also to train with kindness. - Every LU dog has been fully checked and assessed by a UK vet and a behaviourist. We offer post-adoption support and access to our behaviourist for the life of our dogs, as well as full rescue back-up. - Each dog goes to their new home with a fitted harness, collar and flexitag.
