Description
We’re gutted to have to rehome our 16 month old pocket bully, Alba. We have had Alba since a puppy at 14 weeks, shes a loving loyal dog who loves other dogs, but isn't good with strangers or children. We have 4 children who she has been with since a pup, and 90% of the time she is great with them, but her tolerance level is low and she becomes short tempered and I'm at a point were i cant trust her in the same room with them incase she snaps, its not fair on us or her. Therefore Alba can NOT be rehomed in a house with any children. Alba is very attatched to myself and my husband and is so loving with us, she loves her dog walker who she goes out with twice a week, she does a group walk with multiple dogs and she gets on great with them, shes very social in that sense. Shes fully crate trained and sleeps in her crate at night, shes had basic puppy training as a pup so sits when asked etc, she has some recall but not full - we walk her on private land where no other dogs are and she walks with us off lead, she doesn't run away at all stays with us fully, but if there was another dog she would want to go over so i don't walk her off lead unless i hire the private dog walk place local to us. We have also worked with a behaviourist when her snappiness started and we learnt techniques to be able move her without touching her etc, but this more gave us coping mechanisms rather than a solution. If someone new comes to the house she may growl, its hit and miss we pretty much don't know who she will like and who she wont, she’s unpredictable in that sense, and its that that makes her impossible to keep for us because of the kids. She needs a loving home with a single person or a couple who has experience with training and discipline, and who will have time to set boundaries and work hard with her to help her. Shes will dote on you when she loves you, she really loves us and its so hard to have to make this decision but we have to do whats best for our children. Again - * NO CHILDREN * single person or a couple * must have experience with difficult dogs * will have to meet Alba and build trust * recently vet checked for pain incase that was the issue with her moods but it isn't. Shes fit and healthy. * waiting on her second season and then we plan to have her neutered * microchipped, wormed, vaccinated. * i will not let her go without knowing shes going to a suitable person and home.
