Hi, i have 2 beautiful Amazon parrots for sale 1 is a 41/2 yrs old yellow naped called Rio and the other is 6 yrs old blue fronted is called George.
Through no fault of their own I'm having to rehome them because
I have quite bad COPD and the doctors have said to me I need to rehome them.
I'm looking for a responsible and caring family with a good knowledge about parrots, these are NOT for an aviary the are house pets. My yellow naped talks and sings, he picks words up quite quickly depending on the tone voice that he likes lol . He likes watching other parrots that talk on Facebook or YouTube he loves being out of his cage , he also likes ¹playing peek a boo when being covered for bed, he is a quiet boy except when you are having a meal he isn't overly loud he usually says hello to get your attention so he can have some, he sings or repeats words when your hoovering.
He needs someone who is willing to give him the the time he deserves, unfortunately I haven't been able to spend much time training him due to other health problems as well which began after I got him, he loves scitches on top of his head cheeks and under his chin if his head is getting to far away while giving him scitches tell him to come closer.
The family who wants to give him his forever home will need to give him time to get use to you and learns he can trust you i would say he prefers women to touch him but he will occasionally he will let men but he will take food of them. He can be a bit nippy at times just watch his eyes as pupils go small, if he's telling you off and does try to nip or bite tell him no be nice Rio that's naughty be a good boy in a firm but gentle way ( you may need to do it and couple of times ) he usually responds.
He loves having a bit of your food if your unsure what he can have ask Alexa or Google they'll let you know if its safe, he loves mash potatoes, spaghetti, chips pretty much everything you eat he'll want, even a Sunday roast, i make them a plate and share it between them, oh and ice cream, he needs his fruit and veg too and he likes apples etc, he has complete food plus seed mix and chop ( finely chopped veg with fruit and nuts ) please check what you put in is safe as you might be surprised.
He loves his toys but he can go through them quite quickly lol.
He can fly ( i let his flight feathers grow back after being clipped he only really flies if he does his silly playtime and gets unbalanced, he usually lands on curtain rail you can either use a cushion for him to step on and he'll fly back to cage or if you hold a pleated part of curtain he will work out the best way to get on, and when he does he'll walk down to your hand if he trust you or he'll fly back to his cage. Also he like being misted with water and he opens his wings it is beautiful and the colours are amazing .

My blue fronted amazon is a little older going of previous owner he's probably about 5 1/2 yrs old
He is a very placid sweet boy. I believe he has always been an only pet where he came from, we have a dog who he watches like a hawk, he is quite jealous of Rio, and even though he says hello we know he can say more but doesn't as much with not being the only 1 here, he isn't keen on children ( we don't know why ) but will say hello back to them. He wants to be out of his cage 24/7 if he could, he likes to sit on other people's shoulders usually visitor's lol,
when your having a meal he will fly to you and wants you to let him eat out of mouth or on tongue but he is so gentle, he will do this with anything really unless you give him some so you can eat yours in peace lol, he knows there's food when hears a packets rustle he's very clever but like I said he doesn't show it because he's not on his own it's a bit like he's regressed instead of learning more he just wants to be an only pet and no children . He has never really played with toys until recently he was like that when we got him. He loves the same food as Rio but he prefers his a bit warm and he knows what he likes , he only has to see something and will turn his nose away so you know he doesn't want it, his favourite treat is chocolate especially kitkat though they aren't meant to have it. He use to step up and go in his cage when you said bedtime but he stopped doing that so I show him some kind of food then put it in his dish then he goes in, I really feel when he's an only pet and no children he will be back to where he was before
He really is a sweet boy and loves attention he will sit on your shoulders and go to sleep after food if he's comfy and doesn't need a drink. He bathes himself in his water dish, but it needs to be full it's very cute. He's not that keen on being covered at bedtime he comes for his last scitches then moans about being covered but it's meant to be dark and they should really have 12 hours sleep.
