This is my cat Paddy. It’s incredibly difficult for me to write this and it’s not a decision I’ve made lightly.
I absolutely don’t want to let him go, and I will only consider doing so if the right person comes along.
Paddy is playful, energetic, and full of character. He is a domestic shorthair and I think his mum was part bengal. He can be a little wary of loud noises and will usually retreat under the bed for a few minutes if he’s startled. He’s a house cat and hasn’t been around other cats before.
Unfortunately, my work schedule has changed, and I now have very little time to spend with him. I’ve noticed he’s becoming frustrated and restless, and I truly believe he would thrive with someone who has experience with cats and can give him the time and attention he needs.
Paddy can sometimes get overstimulated during play or when he’s craving interaction, and he has a habit of biting or wrapping himself around my arm—like he’s trying to get his playful energy out or get my attention, but I think this behavior has increased because he’s not getting enough stimulation or company during the day. With an experienced owner, more one-on-one time and a calmer routine, I believe this will settle.
When he’s content, he’s the most affectionate boy—he loves cuddles, making biscuits, and curling up next to you on the sofa with a blanket. He’s incredibly loving when he’s had the chance to bond and feels safe.
