We love Carrie! She reminds us of a Great Dane in size and personality; loveable and a tad dopey (we wouldn't want her any other way!).
Her sister, Amelia, was adopted a while ago, and we hoped that this was a sign that Carrie would find her forever people too. However, she is still waiting...
Carrie is looking for a home where her people understand the needs and care of a larger breed like a Great Dane. She could live with another dog, but not with children (or cats) due to her large size.
Our dear Carrie recently tore her cruciate ligament, and we have been so lucky to have volunteers who have taken her into their homes during her recovery. This has allowed Carrie to spend several weeks in a home, and we are hoping beyond hope that we will be able to find her a home ready for when she's recovered. She deserves a home not a kennel after everything she's been through.
Carrie is generally great in the home - she's calm and settles well.
When Carrie gets to know you, she's so affectionate and loves a cuddle and a fuss. Despite her size, she can be a little scaredy-cat sometimes and likes to snuggle between your legs for comfort. Carrie really is a big softie, and just needs somewhere and someone in her life to give her safety, comfort, love and guidance.
