Rosie is 19 years old, fit and healthy but retired from riding school due to needing a tendon operation that would have cost thousands, they chose to retire her to a hacking home. She is bombproof to hack, safe and sensible, walks and trots up to 5 miles, not been lame while she has been with me, I don’t canter on her, I just hack, she is perfect for that! She will canter, I hold her back. Reason for selling? I’m 54, I’ve got 8 horses on 3 acres of land, I work full time. I have a lot of teenage girls to help out in exchange for riding but I don’t get time to ride! I’m just keeping horses for other people to ride and not getting any of the benefits. I’m tired and always skint. Rosie is an amazing pony, she’s our lead mare, there’s definitely a bit of welsh in there somewhere, she likes her food and her feet are hard and barefoot. Would suit a competent novice but prefers to follow on a hack. I like to lead my disabled daughter (23 with autism) out on her, she is perfect for that too but my daughter is getting increasingly overweight.
