Description
Shep is 8 months old, he is a short hair border collie. Microchiped and fully vaccinated including Kennel Cough. He is from working parents but he has lived in a family home since he was 11 weeks old. Shep is fully house trained and has completed a six week puppy school and a 5 week level 1 Gun Dog training course. We are still working on his training for loose leash and recall. As he is in adolescence now progress has slowed but he is still reacting well. He has been fed a 50/50 raw diet but he is preferring dry food now. He loves natural chews. Sheps favourite sport is football! He will chase a couple of footballs around a field all day if he was able. He is very focused on balls, even if another dog comes to play he will "herd" the balls. He is dog friendly but he can sometimes be a bit much for older or small dogs as he is very playful. He is good with kids but again older children would be better as he is so playful. Shep will suit a very active family or even to be trained as a working dog on farmland. Although he does do well on his own for a couple of hours, he does need a home where someone is at home all the time! Or somewhere that he can go with his new owners to work. Which is the reason we can no longer fully care for him. Our working hours have increased dramatically and unfortunately Shep will be on his own for most of the days. Which is not fair on him being such an active dog. So we have made the decision to find him a home that suits him better. A home check will be required for anyone interested in adopting Shep. We would prefer any potential new owners to meet Shep a few times before any commitment. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have.
