Description

MEADOW IS NOW RESERVED. Following extensive research into breed suitability for assistance dogs, I'm absolutely delighted to introduce you to Meadow. A gorgeous girl Goldendoodle who is ready and waiting to change your life for the better ❤️ Meadow has been thoroughly temperament assessed during her time with me. This has included various different experiences as part of her socialisation. She has met other dogs and people and with me, is living with 12 other dogs ranging from a Newfoundland and Bernese to a gang of Poms, and cats! Meadow has been out in the car for varying lengths of time and is a superstar. She has been to the vets, walked around our local pets at home and taken everything in her stride. She has been introduced to the usual household noises and is completely nonplussed by it all 💜 Meadow is showing huge potential as an assistance dog prospect. She could of course do/be anything, whether working, or an adored family pet. Meadow is a Golden doodle and has the best of both breeds. She is a first cross between a Golden retriever and a standard Poodle. She has the softest blonde coat with a supermodel wave to it, and a cute beard - watch out for when she's had a drink! 😂 She has been introduced to grooming at home and loves a towel dry (from nose to tail!) and a brush. Meadow was born on the 8th of October and came to me at 12 weeks. I am not her original breeder. She is microchipped and fully vaccinated. She is up to date with flea and worm treatments. Meadow will be a big (tall) girl when fully grown, she is not a miniature doodle. Right now she is in her 'Bambi' stage and is all legs and feet! Meadow loves to play and has the typical Goldie enthusiasm and exuberance! She loves ALL toys and will find one at a time to play with. Tug toys are her current favourites. She is learning to share and is highly responsive to gentle direction. At home (in the house and garden) her recall is amazing. She has not yet been off lead outside of home and is walking incredibly well on the lead, both on her own and with other dogs. Meadow is the most loving girl and a real velcro dog. She is the biggest cuddle monster and would happily be fussed all day long. She is very attentive and quick to learn, and just wants to please ❤️ Meadow is almost fully house trained. She understands that toileting happens outside but her young brain sometimes forgets this so it is imperative that she is taken out after every meal, playtime and sleep. Meadow has her meals in a crate and is reasonably happy in there. She will grumble at first but does settle down. If she is to be crated at all then there is still a little work to do with assuring her you will be back, and it's a good place for her. She has a specific bed for bedtime which is only down at night and she sleeps on this through the night. Meadow is now ready for her new forever home. A bit about me! As someone who was looking into getting an assistance dog a few years back, I found it completely unaffordable to get a trained dog with costs of £5-10 thousand pounds! I would also have missed out on the early bonding stage as a trained assistance dog from a charity is generally around 2yrs of age. So I started to research owner trained assistance dogs and found an alarming number of breeders advertising puppies as young as 8 weeks as "trained assistance puppies". A puppy's potential to be an assistance dog can never be guaranteed. This led me to start identifying potential prospects for myself and I now hope to do the same for others. Once a puppy is identified I will complete a thorough temperament assessment over the course of approximately 6 weeks. Obviously there is still no guarantee but the likelihood of success is significantly greater. This is not a business or way of making money for me. I just want to help others who may be in a similar position to me those few years ago when there was no suitable help available. Price for puppy simply covers the original cost of puppy from the breeder (obviously this will vary depending on breed), vaccinations and upkeep. Ideally looking for a home within an hour or so of me to enable an initial visit and possible home check. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you're interested and/or have any questions 😊
