Description

This is a very difficult choice for me to be making and therefore I only want these lovely two to go to the best home! Theo is the male bunnie on the first two photos. Heā€™s age is unknown as I adopted him, but the vets estimated him to be around 3 years old. He is microchipped and neutered. Vaccinated in 2022 & 2023. Theo is very confident rabbit who loves to chew his toys. Isla is the female bunnie in picture 3 & 4. I also adopted Isla. Isla is estimated to be around 2years old. Isla is spayed and microchipped. Vaccinated in 2022 & 2023. When I first got Isla she was shy around humans and found us quite intimidating. However, with a lot of patience and love she no longer finds humans intimidating and loves to take treats from your hands. Isla is more calm than Theo but still gets up to her own mischief. Isla used to nip a lot before I got her due to being scared, this has improved hugely since, and now only does it if sheā€™s stressed. Theo and Isla did not come from the same home, therefore I had to bond them. They have been bonded since 2022 and Iā€™ve never had an issues with the both of them. During the summer time they love to be outside supervised for short amount of times exploring all the safe plants and flowers. In the winter time they love to cozy up to their blankets. Theo and Isla are indoor rabbits ONLY. They also have complete free roam of my room. They will not be going to anyone who is wanting to keep them in cages. They have access to hay 24/7. Get fed greens for breakfast and greens and dry food for dinner. Water in a bowl available 24/7 also. Occasionally treats offered also. Their most favourite treat is banana.šŸŒ They are both littered trained. This is an extremely hard decision for me that I have been thinking about for a few months. However, due to a change in my circumstances it would be selfish to keep them whilst not being able to provide the absolutely best for them. Only experienced owners considered. Rabbits are not an easy pet to keep. They are very clever and need a lot of stimulation. I would like to keep in touch with their new owner to ensure that theyā€™ve gone to the best home. Vaccination and microchip paperwork provided. Can come with their litter box (roughly 80cm long), hideout house (roughly 80cm long), toys and any left over food and litter. Please message me with any questions you may have. Iā€™ll be happy to post more pictures and videos if needed! x

Buyer's checklist for rabbits

1

Be responsible, do your research first

Getting rabbits is a massive commitment, so make sure you have researched all of their general needs, and those specific to their breed fully and have the time and commitment necessary to care for the rabbits. You can read our detailed information guide about rabbits for potential new rabbit owners. If you are looking for a rabbit to keep your rabbit company remember that they will both need to be neutered and that a male / female pair works best. Rabbits are a long term commitment as they can live up to 10 years.

2

Rabbits need a friend and space

Rabbits should never be kept alone, they need the company of other (neutered) rabbits. They need space to stand, hop, jump and run, and safe places for hiding. The absolute minimum space required 24/7 for up to 2 average sized rabbits is area 3m x 2m x 1m high.

3

Health check & welfare

It can be difficult for the average person to check if a rabbit is healthy or not. The seller should be willing to let you take the rabbit to a vet of your choice for a health check and return the pet within 48 hours for a full refund if there are health issues. If the rabbit has already been health checked, make sure you have this documented and phone their vet. Also remember rabbits need to be neutered so that they can live with other rabbits, and vaccinated annually to protect them against myxomatosis and RVHD1 and 2. Register with a rabbit friendly veterinary Practice. We would advise that you read the following article containing rabbit care and welfare information provided by the Rabbit Welfare Association and Fund (RWAF).

4

Report, donā€™t support!

If you believe a rabbit may be subject to irresponsible breeding, do not ā€œrescueā€ the rabbit by rehoming it. Walk away and report the seller to us immediately.

5

Rabbits must be 8 weeks when collected

Rabbits must be at least 8 weeks old and fully weaned before they can leave their mothers. Most responsible sellers will keep their rabbits longer than this before they let them go to new homes. Make sure you take some of the food with you so you can change over to your own food gradually.
