Description
Our kits are going growing so well, they have been sexed and are ready for their new families to pick! I will try and answer the common questions here that we get when people enquire about a littler so please have a read through. Pictures in photos above are of our last litter and the mother/father of litter in the nest.   We have 3 x angoras. (Pedigrees available to view on request)   Walter buck/father chocolate point split-imported from France  Mabel doe/mother black English angora Alice doe/black torte from imported lines Indonesia/France   Our angoras are our pets and they have a bunny shed outside with large run and they each take turns spending time in the house with us which allows them a change of scenery as well as opportunities to lay on the sofa and harass Molly the 15 year old labradoodle…..the rabbits are the boss! Kits will be well socialised, spend time with our children and the never ending washing machine so they will be used to noise!   Angoras make excellent pets and we are in the process of teaching Walter a few tricks….video to follow!! But they do require grooming and regular hair cuts. Fur can be used for crafting, felting and spinning or just to stroke which is hard not to do as they are super soft. I am more than happy to guide you on how often we groom and what equipment that we have. Male or female? Lots of people ask what sex of bunny is friendliest? Our 3 bunnies all have very different personalities but are all super friendly. We advise to neuter as soon as they are old enough which your vet will guide you on as this will help to ensure litter training continues effectively. Walter prefers to snooze most of the day, then on an evening will sprawl legs out on the sofa. Mabel is an explorer but loves to be picked up, and Alice is a friendly wally that prefers to sit with Molly the dog during the day and on the back of the sofa at night.   One or two? I like to see rabbits with a fellow rabbit but should you have them enough human time they are quite happy on their own. Should you want 2 x rabbits, they will be bonded as litter mates but as their hormones develop its best to neuter even having 2 females/males together as they can fight.   Collection/Delivery/Courier Bunnys will be ready to be collected on the weekend of the 19th July 2024. We live on the outskirts of Liverpool. I am happy to accept courier and have used a very reasonably priced courier for past litter so am happy to recommend. This needs to be booked in advance and they require a couple of week notice to organise their pick ups.   I will be travelling up to the North East of England on the 20th July so am happy to stop along the way if it makes it easier for you. So anywhere from the Liverpool end of the M62 all the way up to the A19 near Middlesbrough.   What will they come with? We will provide full info sheet on what food and hay we buy them. Also a bag with changeover food and some treats. Some info on grooming, what we use and videos that have helped with the home haircuts! As a side note we use water bowls for our rabbits not the drip feeding bottles so when bunnies come home please make sure they have a bowl as they might not know what to do with the drip water bottles.   And the best bit…..when are they ready?! Kits will be sexed around the 23rd June and photos will be updated and deposits taken. Should you want to be added to the waiting list now give me a shout and your email and I will ensure you get first look at the fluffy ones! Ready for you to take home weekend of the 20th July. Bunnies will be £200 and we ask for a £50 non-refundable deposit to reserve your chosen bunny. Please take a look at our Instagram page for more bunny loveliness and lots of pictures. https://www.instagram.com/the.angora.wood?igsh=NjVhdjc5c3gwbmlo&utm_source=qr

Buyer's checklist for rabbits

1

Be responsible, do your research first

Getting rabbits is a massive commitment, so make sure you have researched all of their general needs, and those specific to their breed fully and have the time and commitment necessary to care for the rabbits. You can read our detailed information guide about rabbits for potential new rabbit owners. If you are looking for a rabbit to keep your rabbit company remember that they will both need to be neutered and that a male / female pair works best. Rabbits are a long term commitment as they can live up to 10 years.

2

Rabbits need a friend and space

Rabbits should never be kept alone, they need the company of other (neutered) rabbits. They need space to stand, hop, jump and run, and safe places for hiding. The absolute minimum space required 24/7 for up to 2 average sized rabbits is area 3m x 2m x 1m high.

3

Health check & welfare

It can be difficult for the average person to check if a rabbit is healthy or not. The seller should be willing to let you take the rabbit to a vet of your choice for a health check and return the pet within 48 hours for a full refund if there are health issues. If the rabbit has already been health checked, make sure you have this documented and phone their vet. Also remember rabbits need to be neutered so that they can live with other rabbits, and vaccinated annually to protect them against myxomatosis and RVHD1 and 2. Register with a rabbit friendly veterinary Practice. We would advise that you read the following article containing rabbit care and welfare information provided by the Rabbit Welfare Association and Fund (RWAF).

4

Report, don’t support!

If you believe a rabbit may be subject to irresponsible breeding, do not “rescue” the rabbit by rehoming it. Walk away and report the seller to us immediately.

5

Rabbits must be 8 weeks when collected

Rabbits must be at least 8 weeks old and fully weaned before they can leave their mothers. Most responsible sellers will keep their rabbits longer than this before they let them go to new homes. Make sure you take some of the food with you so you can change over to your own food gradually.
