Description

Amber is with Animal Angels Global Rescue. Amber is in a foster home in The Wirral. Please email us if you would like more information: adoptions@animalangelsglobal.org Personality and Temperament: Amber is a spirited and resilient Breton who has adapted beautifully to home life despite the challenge of losing an eye before coming into rescue. Brittany's (also called Bretons) are known for their friendly, enthusiastic, and intelligent nature, and Amber embodies all these qualities. She is playful, curious, and thrives on interaction, quickly bonding with her foster family and siblings. While she sometimes reacts to her reflection in windows or the oven door—she is not particularly fond of the "dog in the patio window"—she is coming on leaps and bounds in her foster home. Behaviour and Training: Amber is progressing well with her training, especially with lead work, and her foster family is working diligently to help her gain confidence in different settings. She is comfortable in her crate, whether it's in the kitchen for meals or in the car, which makes her an excellent travel companion. While Amber may express some initial unease with separation, indicated by barking when alone, she is learning to manage better as she gains security and trust in her environment. Amber can be a bit mouthy during play. Her enthusiastic play style, combined with her limited vision on one side, means she sometimes doesn't see everything around her when excited. Daily Life and Activities: Amber is a busy bee in her foster home, carrying toys around and helping manage the cardboard recycling—an amusing and ‘helpful’ quirk that endears her to everyone. She enjoys a structured routine with two meals a day and treats in a Kong to keep her engaged. She sleeps soundly through the night and remains calm even when the family cat comes and goes, showing her adaptability and mild temperament. Amber's playfulness shines through in her interactions, and her one eye does not hinder her from living a full and happy life. Ideal Home: Amber would flourish in a home that can continue providing the stability and love that she has started to enjoy in her foster home. She would do well in a family that appreciates her breed's characteristics: sociable, active, and eager to please. While she gets along well with other pets, her new home should be ready to continue her training and socialisation to help her fully adjust. She would particularly thrive in a setting with playmates who can match her energy levels and engage in active play. While she enjoys the company of children, her energetic nature makes her best suited for a home with older children or adults who can ensure she plays safely. Amber's resilience and delightful character make her a perfect companion for someone looking for a loyal and affectionate dog. Her ability to overcome adversity with a wagging tail is a testament to her wonderful spirit. Amber is waiting for her perfect forever home where she can continue to share her love and enjoy the companionship she so richly deserves. If you're looking for a dog with courage, charm, and a lot of love to give, Amber could be the ideal dog for you. Adoption contract and fee, home check and lifetime RBU (rescue back-up) apply as standard. Please email us if you would like more information: adoptions@animalangelsglobal.org. Adoption fee includes transportation from Spain.
