Roxi is a charming older lady who is seeking an owner who shares her love for cuddles. She is a stunning girl with a mostly black coat that grows in thick and luscious, with a striking white patch on her chest and adorable spotty feet. Her lovely brown eyes just scream “come on, stay in and cuddle”.
Originally rescued from Romania, she spent three years with her previous owner until his sad passing. Naturally, she was bewildered and distressed when taken from her familiar home. However, she adapted to the kennels swiftly, though she’d much rather bask in the comfort of a home where she can be the star. She’s a cuddle enthusiast, loving nothing more than to snuggle by your side and doze off with her head resting in your lap.
Roxi is currently a little overweight, clearly having been “well loved” in her previous home, so she’s now on a diet and exercise regimen. She enjoys her daily walks, excelling at walking on a lead without pulling, and remains indifferent to other dogs and animals she encounters. A walk through a forested area would be ideal for her, allowing her to utilize her sharp sense of smell to investigate her surroundings.
Roxi might coexist with another older, tranquil dog; however, we believe she would be happier as the sole pet, enjoying undivided attention. Although Roxi has not exhibited aggression or a prey drive towards cats or small animals, we have chosen not to place her in a home with them since she has never lived with such animals before, erring on the side of caution.
Roxi is in search of a retirement home without children. She is not particularly keen on visitors; however, we are assisting her in becoming more comfortable with them. She is not aggressive, simply cautious around unfamiliar people.
Roxi would thrive in a home with a retired individual or couple, or with owners who do not have children. She is completely housetrained and well-behaved indoors, making her suitable for being left alone for periods of time, should her adopter work full-time. Roxi is a delightful dog who, given a little time to adjust, would integrate seamlessly into her new home and become a wonderful companion.
