Part of my role as a rescuer is to bring to life the individuality & appeal of each life I’m trying to save though for a little puppy like ‘Nancy’ that’s a big task. To meet her is to know her & I’m hoping the videos will show you the character of this spirited baby & some spirit that is. Here she is at 5/6 months of age having missed the wonderments than most pups can take for granted whether that’s a relaxed mum who isn’t at risk, siblings to play with, a world that wants her & a puppyhood full of joy. What she’s known wasn’t worth having yet through it all this white sausage pom pom continues bouncing back on those irresistibly short legs. She has a personality that instantly wins you over without trying and so many aspects to her adorable presence. Being abandoned / born into misery in juxtaposition to her cathedral sized personality gives Nancy an air of Independence & need. It’s hard to imagine that she’s at risk - a dog they’d queue up around the block for in so many cultures. Pint sized Nancy offers coyness & confidence combined. It’s an intoxicating mix & she had me hook, line & sinker at the first. What I find impossibly cute is that she doesn’t appear to know she has a Mohican & as she’s curling around trying to get attention you’re laughing at this tuft of punk rock hair sticking up. She is oblivious to the drama playing out in her coat & this just makes her even more delightful. To finish off listen to the noise she makes when trying to get your attention in her video- it’s like she’s speaking & really made the vet & I laugh. The poignancy of her meek little ways whilst trying to celebrate her youth against the backdrop of rejection & neglect is humbling. Nancy is everything that shouldn’t be possible given her past and more than we deserve because of it.
