Description
We are tentatively searching for a new home for our beloved mini cob, Buttons. He is a wonderful ride and drive pony, and has brought so much joy to our daughter’s life, however she currently doesn’t have the time or passion to help Buttons fulfill his full potential and it’s a shame to see him out in the field when he has so much more to give.
About Buttons:
He is 11.2h and 6 years old, we have owned him for 18months now. He has the sweetest temperament, never bats an eyelid at anything (dogs, cats, sheep, cows, tractors etc) he’s seen all types of vehicles and never flinches. He is up to date with his tetanus vaccinations but not flu as we don’t take him to any competitions. He’s perfect with the farrier and has his feet trimmed regularly. He has had shoes on when we’ve done a lot of roadwork in the cart and he’s fine with that too. He’s had his teeth checked 10 months ago so he will be due in the next 2months. He’s up to date with wormer.
Buttons was sold as ride and drive to me however it became apparent that he’d not really done a great deal so when he came to me I sent him off to be professionally broken to drive, with a view of re-breaking him to ride this summer however life has got in the way so he is being sold as he is.
To drive buttons is perfect, he will go for as long or short a drive as you want, he’s really not fussed. He will happily stand if you stop to chat or go to the pub. Once the harness is on he knows his job. He is safe as houses (i take my 5yr old and 18m old on the cart with me)
To ride buttons needs some work, he is fine on the lead rein with someone guiding him but once off the lead rein he needs someone with knowledge and confidence as he lacks that so looks to the rider for help and our daughter just hasn’t got that, I have ridden him but at 5ft6 and 11stone I feel like I’m not the right fit for him unfortunately🤦🏼♀️
He is such a loving horse with so much to give, he will stand all day to be groomed, dressed up as a unicorn, etc and we will be heartbroken to see him go so the right home is more important than price.
You’re welcome to come and view him but please only enquire if you are serious as this is a hard enough as it is.
