Meet Seamus, Seamus is a Beautiful ex racer, standing at 16.2. Seamus had a very successful career in Ireland as a steeplechaser. Seamus is quite a dude and everyone’s favourite ❤️. I bought Seamus and had him imported from Ireland with the intention of regularly happy hacking him after his retraining in this field when he came off the track. Sadly my poor health due to diabetes complications and added health problems has meant my gorgeous boy has been a field ornament for the past 12 months. He is mostly very easy to do and handle on the ground, he loves attention and being groomed. He does have the odd strop from going out late, typically for a thoroughbred. He patiently waits to go in of an evening. He is not suitable for a novice rider/owner because of his past career. I have signed a non racing agreement with Weatherby's so he can’t go back into racing or point to point due to some arthritis in his offside fore fetlock. Please Don’t be misled into thinking he is passed it because he can race around his paddock like a two year old on occasion and has a beautiful gate. He respects electric fencing but if it’s down or off he’s been known to pop it. This is a heartbreaking sale but due to loss of grazing as it’s being sold off for development and my poor husband juggling long shifts within the NHS and looking after myself while I’m frequently unwell and taking care of Seamus it’s imperative that I find my beloved boy a kind loving genuine home that will give him purpose and a job that suits his needs and comfort. Seamus cannot be galloped for miles or trotted on hard surfaces for lengthy periods due to his arthritis but he does enjoy hacking out quietly around lanes, or opened up for a canter on grass he gets on really well with most horses and ponies and is generally a sweetheart with others and often shares a paddock with a mini Shetland which he adores. He prefers company to start with out hacking in new areas or with new people. Seamus does prefer the company of other horses on the yard or in the field and I wouldn’t want him to be on his own for that reason. There is No wind sucking or weaving, but he occasionally box walks. Sold from the field as a project due to being out of work for a while. Seamus will come with all tack and rugs and remaining feeds as I will be giving up. Seamus will be easy to bring back into work. I have a lot of Seamus’s races on video on.ATR along with many racing photos. He laps up the attention of the children on the yard. Only kind loving genuine people need apply for this genuine Gentleman.
