This is my lovely boy Rio. He is a Boston terrier crossed with a pug. He is 8 years old. Rio has a loving temperament and absolutely loves a snuggle.
Rio has so much energy and loves long walks, although he is very excitable and can be reactive on the lead, so it is important that his new family can handle a pulley dog.
Rio loves playing fetch and swimming in the sea, although his recall isn’t very good, he gets easily distracted!
Rio can be good with other dogs if introduced properly, by someone who is confident and knows how to do this in a proper manner, but I think it would be better for Rio to be rehomed as an only dog.
Rio is okay with our cat, he knows she’s in charge and rules the roost, I do not know how he would be with other cats, so a cat free home would be best for him.
Rio is fond of children, although can give warnings to younger ones when he is approached while resting. Rio doesn’t like to be touched without consent or initiation from him, so he will benefit from being rehomed in a family with children who are old enough to understand his boundaries.
He currently lives with three children and absolutely adores them.
Rio is neutered and microchipped and regularly treated for fleas and worms.
Rio does not like vet trips and I tend to get some relaxing medicine from the vets to give him before we go, although Rio has no known health problems or issues, so he doesn’t go often.
Rio is a much loved member of our family, it is an extremely difficult decision to rehome him and this decision has not come lightly.
Rio is not the reason for rehoming, unfortunately working hours and severe severe allergies are making it difficult for Rio to have the most amazing life he deserves.
I would love for an adventurous family to adopt Rio and show him even more places than he has already seen.
Please message with any inquiries, please do not message with unsolicited advice, I will not give him to just anyone, I know people get dogs for dog fighting, I know some people are unworthy of dogs. I will be extremely careful and considerate as to who rehomes my lovely boy.
