Aged approximately 2 years, Jackson is definitely a canine comedian, his expressions are the perfect showcase of his care-free spirit. He’s a medium-sized, dark-furred bundle of cuddles with sparkling brown eyes. Capturing him in a photo is a challenge, as he’s too busy making goofy faces at the camera to sit still!
Jackson has returned to the kennels after nearly two years with his owners. They had adopted him as a puppy, intending to train him as an assistance dog, but he showed more interest in play. His owners concluded that he was better suited to “just being a dog.” Jackson seemed content with this as he ambled into the kennels, overweight and disengaged, prompting us to begin our work.
After a few weeks of dedicated training, engagement, and a healthy diet, he has become a loving and humorous dog who approaches life with ease. He forms strong bonds with his humans, proving to be a loyal companion and an excellent family pet. He is sociable with other dogs and could cohabit with another canine companion/s happily! While he has not been tested with cats, we are open to assessing his compatibility for potential adopters.
Although he wasn’t frequently around children in his previous home, his playful disposition suggests he could quickly become a child’s best friend.
Jackson’s endearing snaggle tooth and his charming, lopsided smile are just the beginning of his appeal. He’s in excellent health, and as he sheds some extra weight, his zest for walks and playtime in the field is blossoming. He’s well-trained for the house, finds comfort in his crate at night, and would transition smoothly into a new home with a little time to adjust. His favorite spot is our office sofa, where he snuggles up and leans in for a cuddle, making him the perfect companion for relaxing with some TV or a movie.
