Meet Barney, surrendered to the rescue when his elderly owners realised they couldn’t look after him or gave him any fulfilment.
He’s a 5 yr old, vaccinated, microchipped and neutered young man 🐾❤️
So right now he’s flicked his “love switch" on, loving life! He's on a new healthier diet, walks out, enjoys playtime and is making new friends but it’s not always been this way. He was stuck in a house getting nothing than substandard food (gut to brain axis), which was not ideal for him at all.
He's previously been around children (grand children) with supervision however we would prefer to re-home him without young children in the house. Visiting children is possible.
He hasn't shared an inside space with a dog before so a single dog home would be preferred.
He has not been cat tested.
His current training plan is to be neutrally social. He is ongoing crate training / threshold training / lead walking (which is just a little pulling at the moment).
So now we are looking for a home for him that has and can demonstrate an understanding of rules and boundaries, enrichment and fulfilment. This boy needs an active life, he is not a couch potato so criteria would be:
1. A relatively active home offering regular walks
2. Continuation of a raw diet
3. Boundary settings meaning initially discussing his care with us and trainer involvement if necessary.
Can be met at Doggy Dens UK Rescue in Cuckney Nottinghamshire. We are looking for someone local to our kennels who can use our rescue trainer for ongoing training.
