‘DEVON AREA- approx 6-7 month old little lab type girl ‘Preto’- living with cats & kittens & so sweet natured
Little 8kg Preto (at time of writing) was no more than a bag of sugar when a kind person saved her and her siblings after a cruel woman tried to kill the mother & her babies as soon as they were born. Can you imagine carrying your pups and the trauma of birth only to then have someone try to hurt them and yourself?
They were then placed in a box in an empty house as the best this person could do in their circumstances to protect them - then she gave the puppies away again in an attempt to keep them safe from the ‘owners’ but sadly to people who will probably chain them - bar this one - this one wee girl who we called ‘Preto’.
She was placed with someone I know who also rescues and she asked for help to home her. Break the chains secured her placement with a trusted foster in Devon where she will be adopted & loved by someone who knows her worth- is that you?
Currently Preto is living with ‘Jenner’ another black dog that I rescued from the government pound- as Jenner is adopted and leaving soon I couldn’t bear the thought of Preto being left behind. Black dogs are treated even more horrifically than the rest of the canine populous in Europe on account of their colour but at break the chains we see them as ‘black beyond beautiful’ and have launched desperate campaigns to help as many of them as possible.
What can Preto bring to your household apart from obvious joy? Well she’s young, active, passive, loves everyone, great with cats as seen (living with 26 of them in the EU) & is desperate to find the meaning of love. She’s just an infant with a horizon ahead of her and would like an outdoor space to call her own, someone (or a family or couple) who will provide a gentle and neutering companionship & leadership & doggy play dates and/ or resident pooches to connect with.
She has such a gentle & vulnerable air about her & has through it all remained spirited and hopeful. They really are phenomenal these dogs.
