DescriptionGENERAL
Quinn learned so much during her time in foster but now she'd love to find her forever home. She happily lived with dog savvy 12 year old twins, and could do again (children 12 and over). Quinn needs an experienced guardian because she can be quite a scaredy-dog and needs your guidance.
HER PEOPLE
When Quinn knows and loves you, she is just a big, dopey puppy around you. She loved the foster carer's children; she is an easy dog in so many ways who just loves her people. Quinn can get spooked by things in her world, though, and so she needs a human in her life who is confident; someone she can draw strength and reassurance from.
STRANGERS
It can take a little while for Quinn to trust new people. This is one of her barriers to finding a new home, because she doesn't "sell" herself to strangers. All we ask is that you see beyond the dog she is pretending to be (to protect herself) and see the dog that we all see. After a few meets, you'll gain that connection.
IN THE HOME
At home, Quinn is no trouble at all. She's house trained, crate trained, and fine when left alone. Quinn is used to being put away when visitors come to the home, and after an initial upset about the matter, she will soon settle down. She will need her own space in her new home where she can feel safe when people visit.
SMARTS & WALKS
Quinn is a very smart young lady and knows various commands such as: down, sit, close, and out. She walks to heel when on the lead, which is great because her recall isn't her strength. Her foster carer walked her without reaction through town, along the river and canal, and through busy parks with no issues. She may need some support with her confidence, though, in new settings. Quinn is muzzle trained, which also helps.
OTHER DOGS
Quinn lives with other dogs, and after some careful introductions we feel it's possible she could live with another dog in her new home - preferably a calm, male dog who is good at communicating with his kind. However, a female buddy could also be considered and explored as a possibility.
NEEDS
This special lady needs someone to continue helping her with her confidence, reassuring her that the world isn't really that scary. She is eager to learn and so she just needs a human to continue her confidence training - someone who won’t feed into her nervousness. We will, of course, give you advice and support with this.
