Female Caramel Jag Carpet for sale through no fault of her own. Having to downsize my collection due to time constraints.
Unknown age but I believe her to be a young juvenile, I was told she is no more than 2-3years max. but she’s very small for that age if that is correct so I don’t believe that to be true. (Was missold to me and no contact with previous owner.)
Approx. 5-6ft in length currently so still has some growing to do, has chunked up nicely since I’ve had her as she was quite skinny initially but could still do with bulking up a bit more.
Typical carpet python feistiness - NOT a beginner or child’s snake. With a confident handler she is fine to hook and then handle outside of her vivarium, does show some tendencies to be territorial of her viv but able to top up/clean water and spot clean around her. Just need to keep an eye on her - she strikes a lot but has never latched or wrapped at all so just very typical defensive behaviour.
Once out of the viv, she can be jumpy if you move too quickly but is able to be handled. If she’s anything like the rest of my carpets then this will definitely settle with age and consistent handling, as I’ve already seen her become more docile in my care.
She feeds like an absolute dream, typical carpet appetite and strike feeds frozen thawed rats. Has never had any issues with shedding, sheds in one entire piece with humidity adjustments as needed and a water dish to soak in during. No issues with toileting either and has never had any health issues since in my care.
Shes a beautiful snake and I’ll be sad to see her go as she’ll make a stunning addition for someone, but I just don’t have the time I think she needs to dedicate to her and want her to be fully appreciated. I have had people interested in using her for breeding due to her morph and colouring, but she will need at least another few years minimum to grow and bulk up before this would be possible.
Feel free to contact me for any more information on her, I’m not in a rush to part with her as I’d rather take a financial loss and her go to an amazing home. She will not be sold with her current viv so any potential new owner would need to have a set up ready for her.
