*Price negotiable* It breaks our hearts to be writing this, but due to circumstances completely out of our control, we are looking for a new forever home for our beloved Chow Chow, Bruce. Our landlord has sold the property we were renting, and unfortunately, our new home doesn’t have a garden. Bruce absolutely loves being outside, and we don’t feel it would be fair to him to keep him somewhere without space to explore and relax outdoors.
Bruce is a 2-year-old, KC registered male Chow Chow with the most beautiful coat and classic lion-like appearance. He is microchipped, fully vaccinated, and in excellent health. He is not neutered, but he’s never been a humper or shown any inappropriate behaviour — he’s a true gentleman!
Bruce has a calm and independent temperament typical of the breed, but he’s also incredibly loving and loyal once he forms a bond with you. He enjoys spending time with his family but is equally content lounging in the garden or watching the world go by. He’s not a “needy” dog, but he’ll happily come over for cuddles and loves a good brush or scratch behind the ears.
He can live with other dogs, although he isn’t overly playful or fussed about them — he tends to do his own thing and will coexist peacefully as long as the other dog respects his space. He cannot live with cats, however, as he does have a strong chase instinct and we wouldn’t trust him around them. We have no idea what he would do if he ever caught one, so for safety reasons, a cat-free home is an absolute must.
Bruce is used to a calm household and would thrive best with someone who understands the Chow Chow breed and their unique personality traits — someone patient, confident, and experienced. He enjoys his walks but isn’t overly energetic, so he would suit a home with a secure garden where he can potter around and enjoy his independence.
We are absolutely heartbroken to have to let him go, as he’s been such a special part of our lives, but our current situation simply isn’t fair to him. We want to do right by Bruce and ensure he goes to a home where he’ll be as loved and well cared for as he has been with us.
Bruce will leave with:
• His KC registration paperwork sent once he as gone to your home
• Vaccination and microchip details
• His favourite blanket, toys, and food to help him settle
We will only consider loving, experienced homes that can offer Bruce the space and environment he deserves. Please only enquire if you genuinely have the time, love, and understanding to offer this wonderful boy the life he deserves.
