Captain is a healthy 3 year old dog. Like all spaniels he's got a sensitive stomach and usually has dry food designed for spaniels which has probiotocs and is affordable from a special website.
Captain is a friendly, affectionate, lovely dog, he likes to run around the garden and play ball. When walking, he gets stimulated when he sees female dogs in his excitement to meet them, though he is castrated. However, he doesn't like male dogs (maybe just because he needs to socialise more). Captain is choosy who can approach him when out on the lead.
Captain has a high prey instinct, so small animals are a no. He is toilet trained and can safely be left alone for up to 12 hours. Three walks per day would be perfect so he will be tired. He sleeps well overnight. Ideally Captain needs to be with someone who has the patience to work around his little quirks and help him socialise. He needs much longer walks than I can do with him because of the arthritis I now have. He likes to be active and it's not fair that he has to stay at home for all day as I do 12 hours shifts.
