Mabel is a lovely 7 month old girl who is small/medium in size. She would like to live with another dog (noting she's a playful pup!) but NO cats. We recommend that she lives with adults or older dog-savvy children (sensible teens). Mabel would not be a suitable first dog.
This loving, cuddly, little girl is now looking for her forever home. She is doing very well in her foster home, but does want to chase the resident cat, so she needs a cat-free home. However, she's been very well socialised with other dogs and loves their company.
Her puppy training is going well, and she is developing a good recall (she's nearly there with it already!). She is lead trained. She's nearly house-trained, but sometimes forgets herself, the way all babies do. Mabel has become used to travelling in the car.
In foster, it has been noted that she has a bit of a sensitive tummy. This could be something that calms down over time, but definitely something to be monitored. We will advise with this.
It's also been noted that she has a tendency to protect resources which are precious to her, and so we cannot rehome her where this would be a problem - so no small/vulnerable children. Resource guarding can be easily managed, and we can provide advice with this.
Mabel is still quite shy and timid when meeting new people, particularly men (although there have been exceptions). Therefore, she will need a supportive home who will help her to build confidence in these situations.
In all, Mabel is a lovely puppy who will grow into a wonderful dog. She'll benefit from further training, and she loves learning and activity (we wonder if agility could be in her future?). Mabel also loves cuddles and snuggling on the sofa with you, and she sleeps well overnight.
